Spanish cowgirl
This wonderful vintage image has just been added to my collection. Isn't she grand? She was a circus cowgirl. The horse's name is Silver. Watch for her to star on a jewelry piece along with another spanish cowgirl or two, very soon! This puts me in the mood for mexican food, so I thought I would share my own personal {easy} salsa recipe. For a great homemade flour tortilla recipe visit The Homesick Texan blog at:

My salsa is made in a blender with two cans Rotel diced tomatoes and green chiles, { replace one with tomatoes & habaneros if you dare !} juice of one small lime, a few pickled jalapeno slices, the jar kind, fresh onion to taste, garlic powder to taste, and a sprinkle or two of oregano. You can use fresh garlic in place of powder, I never measure so make it to your taste. You can also add a pinch of cilantro if you wish. Salt to taste, I usually add until just the very top layer looks frosty. Pulse a few times, done. This does have some heat to it so don't overdue. I eat tons of it as I am not as sensitive to the hotness. To make with less heat, use plain diced tomatoes, and lose the jalapenos. Always better if it sets overnite to meld the flavors. Great on taco salad or just with chips!
that's a great photo, I LOVE horses so I'm pleased I found your blog :) Catherine x
