Graffiti horses....

Image
These artworks started when I took a horse I had drawn in pen and filled it in with photoshop brushes, just playing around. I loved the outcome, but decided they needed to be filled with my original drawings. So I bought some pens the other day and started creating these horses. I have added them to my Zazzle shop, along with some other new designs. Let me know what you think of them.

Dark Arts

Image
My art doesn't really get very dark, but I am working on a few of these type of paintings, and jewelry, inspired by Halloween and everyday spooky things.... "The Witch's Horse painting and Raven Heart necklace are available on ebay.

Hello everyone! I just finished this fun diving horse and rider painting. I'm going to be doing more of these folk art type works, because they are so fun and lighthearted. Just thought I would share it with you, as I hope it will make you smile !

Love me, Love my Horse

Image
This is a new photo collage piece just finished. You can find it as a card on zazzle along with another new cowgirl collage. Love me, love my horse is special today as Indi has a cold, snotty nose{ ick, cleaning it am & pm} and is feeling a little blue. Please send her a hug. {She has never been sick before & it makes her mommy a crazy person.} Also, I wanted to thank my special blog readers, your comments on my last post were a tonic to me, and don't think I didn't appreciate it. I love my people.

Art unexpected

Image
Thank goodness I have been mostly pleased with how my jewelry is looking lately. My paintings however are a different story ..... After some soul searching this week about my fine art painting, where its been, where I'm wanting it to go, and why I was so discontent with my recent works. I believe I finally freed myself of some doubts which were causing me to feel that my art didn't measure up. I was also putting pressure on myself to stick to one technique in my painting. Most artists do, because it is an unwritten law, create works that look the same, so people will easily identify them as your art. I had posted earlier that, that didn't work for me, and it still doesn't. But Like Dorothy in Oz, I had to find it out for myself. For me, there's no place like - diversity. I think what I had to work out in my head, was the fact, that it is okay to create the way I do. The art police aren't going to hunt me down and haul me off, forcing me to paint in blue waterco...

All you have to do is leave a comment here, on this post. That way you don't have to leave an email address or anything like that. Then I will post the winner here, in five days, so check back. That person will then need to contact me with an address to send their necklace to. Simple as that ! You have two to choose from, only one will be given away. I thought I would include a non-horsey, non-cowgirl choice this time. So if you win, you can choose between the cowgirl photo necklace or the "Entangled Heart" art clay necklace. Good Luck !

Friesian horse & raven necklace

Image
Here are a couple of necklaces done from the raven and friesian horse artworks. Click on the photo to enlarge for a close up look. The friesian will be listed on ebay {id- wildhorsemoon} and the raven will go into my etsy shop, which is not up yet, but is in the works !

Friesian Necklace Element

Image
The black bird, or raven painting is now finished and ready to be part of the friesian horse necklace and whatever else he might get in to. I've decided he is a raven after all. This pairing will be the first in a series I am doing called "Horsefeathers" that features horses and birds. You will see why he is a raven when the necklace { and a couple of variations} debuts, and that it is the first of two images I'm creating that match these two together.

101 Ranch

Image
Just added to my website, this 101 Ranch cowgirl photo necklace. I live in Oklahoma, where the 101 ranch is, or was. I am really saddened that there is virtually nothing of it left but the land. I wish it had been saved in all it's glory, and for the wonderful part of history it was. I am amazed when I read about it in its heyday, a self sustained working ranch, as well as the famous "rootin, tootin" wild west shows they created. I have so much admiration and respect for those ole' time cowgirls too. I am undertaking a new and daunting task... to paint some cowgirls and horses. I love the victorian, prairie cowgirls, so my images will have a romantic bent. Wish me luck, as I have NEVER painted people ! This could be interesting... Upon completion, I will debut the first painting here, for your critiques. Wish me luck! First I have to finish the friesian project, check back soon.

Where for ART thou?

Image
In the art world, they will tell you to develop a style and stick to it so that people instantly recognize your work. I am afraid I just could never conform to that theory. I like to create what moves me in any technique and style I want to use at the time. I guess its because I'm self taught, unschooled and I guess unruly ! What I want, is to stir something in you when you see my art, no matter what type of art it is. The friesian horse, as you can see, is completed and the crow is already in the works. The necklace will be made in different versions, so that all preferences might be met. I welcome your comments & thoughts. Thanks for stopping by, please do so again to watch this art piece come together.
